Description

They are designed with a plain section in the middle of the screw smaller in diameter then the thread. When a panel or mating component is unscrewed from its main assembly, the reduced diameter section enables the screw to be retained (captive) and therefore reduces the loss of small fastenings when maintenance is undertaken.
